Sewing Machines in India

As most of your know, I recently asked our congregates and listeners to help me raise funds for a boys' home in India.  And, as always, you came through with flying colors.  Not only did the money we raised (and continue to receive) buy much-needed food for the flood ravaged community, but it allowed the young man who runs the orphanage to purchase five new sewing machines.  The machines will be used to teach young orphaned girls a trade, helping them to avoid an otherwise bleak future.  When I heard of their plan and intention to reach out to these young girls in such a constructive, positive fashion, I had to join the cause.

Here are a few photos of the new machines, some of the food they purchased and distributed to the surrounding community, and a message from the boys thanking GCA.

And let me take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you who contributed -- and who continue to contribute -- to this incredibly worthwhile cause.

The sign they are holding up reads:

He who is gracious to a poor man lends to the Lord, and He will repay for his good deeds. (Prov. 19:17) Thank you brother Jim and GCA congregation.

These are the boys your contributions helped to feed, clothe, and shelter.

Bobby works hard to educate these local residents, all from a Christian perspective, which is not always easy considering that they are surrounded by Muslims and Hindus.
The boxes above contain the new sewing machines, which will sit on the accompanying stands.
Mounds of lemon rice are prepared by the missionary workers and distributed (below) among the villages that were hard-hit by the recent floods.

So, once again, thank you for your kindness and generosity.  And thanks for making my 55th birthday so memorable.
