The most common thing I heard Sunday afternoon was, "It can't be over already!"
We had a wonderful weekend at GCA. We had visitors from all over and on Sunday morning we were SRO (standing room only). In fact, we had to pull chairs out of the front office and nursery to put out in the foyer.
And eat? My goodness. We ate Saturday night at the Legend's restaurant and they did a terrific job of serving everyone. Then on Sunday, Tom and Scott manned the grill and we all feasted on a variety of dishes provided by the GCA families. It was just terrific.
But, at the center of this weekend's activities was the Word of God, which was ably and passionately preached by my beloved friend, Elder Barney Johnson. And, to add blessing upon blessing, Pastor Don Tindle was present to read scripture and pray for our meeting.
I tried to capture as much audio from the weekend as possible and post it, in its entirety, to the site. Despite the fact that only one mp3 appears on our homepage, there are actually three new audio files from the weekend. The other two are in the archives, under the "listen" link.
On the homepage you'll find a link where you can hear highlights from our Saturday meeting. Elder Johnson titled his message "A Fearful Weekend." You can hear it here
On Sunday morning we began by dedicating little Nathan Downs to the Lord. You can here that segment of the morning here: dedication service
Then we held our annual Resurrection Sunday communion service, which can be heard here: Communion Service
So, thanks to all the folk who came to visit and worship with us. I never cease to be amazed at the outreach we have via the Internet. And I am thankful beyond words for all of you who listen to and support the ministry of GCA.
Lastly, to all the local members of GCA --- you did a superb job of hosting our guests, making them feel at home, and welcoming them with open arms. The love of Christ was evidently in our midst and I couldn't have been happier with the outcome.
